She is the goddess of\nall sources of energy. The energy of the sun is also a grant from her. She\nmanifested as the mother of lord shiva after the incident of samudramanthan to\nheal him as her child. Tara is of a light blue complexion. She has three eyes,\na snake coiled comfortably around her throat, wearing the skins of tigers, and\na garland of skulls. Her left foot rests on the corpse of shiva. The goddess is\nworshiped as guide and protector and savior. Goddess tara is worshipped in both\nhinduism and buddhism as the goddess of compassion and protection. In hinduism,\nshe is a form of the female primordial energy known as shakti. The name comes\nfrom the sanskrit root tar, meaning \u201cprotection.\u201d In other Indian languages,\nthe name translates as \u201cstar.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin: 15pt 0cm 0cm; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: Roboto;\">Tara\u2019s name is derived from tri, which means\n\u201cto cross.\u201d One of her epithets is samsaratarini, \u201cshe who takes across the\nocean of worldly existence. \u201dTara is thus the all-gracious liberator. Tara\nfirst appeared as a deity in hinduism but was later adopted by buddhism. In\nfact, in some traditions, she is considered the female buddha.
